Meet The Author
Michael (Mike) Wash is a Yorkshire-based author of middle-grade fantasy books who believes the best adventures begin close to home, often in ordinary places that hide extraordinary secrets.
Now retired, Mike has spent much of his life helping people and communities: he worked in nursing and counselling before moving into organisational leadership and consultancy, and in retirement has served as a school governor, a hospital director, and chair of both a mental-health charity and a male voice choir.
Children’s Adventures
Michael’s storytelling is inspired by family life and the vivid imagination of his nine grandchildren, whose adventures and curiosity helped shape the Fearless Trio series.
These stories are filled with mystery, humour, courage, and compassion, worlds where brave choices matter and kindness becomes a kind of superpower.

Leadership & Business
For more than 30 years, Michael has worked with senior leaders and organisations across both commercial and healthcare environments, helping teams strengthen culture, communication, leadership and organisational wellbeing.
Holding a Master’s degree in Business and Economics specialising in Leadership, Michael combines practical organisational development expertise with deep insight into human behaviour. His background in psychology, counselling and mental health has enabled him to support individuals, executive teams and organisations through periods of transformation, crisis and change.

Wellbeing & Personal Growth
Michael is a former mental health nurse, counsellor, teacher and organisational development consultant who has spent decades helping people navigate change, relationships, stress and personal growth.
Beginning his career in mental health nursing in the early 1970s, he later trained in counselling, psychotherapy and Humanistic Psychology, working alongside Professor Gerard Egan, author of The Skilled Helper, in the development and training of counsellors and helping professionals.
Alongside his professional work, Michael has experienced many of the challenges explored in his writing, including grief, illness, family struggles and major life changes, experiences that deepened his belief that some of life’s most important lessons are often the simplest.
